Creating a Reading List using Leganto
To create a reading list using Leganto, please follow the step-by-step instructions outlined below. If you require further assistance or would like a library staff member to guide you through the process, do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to help you.
Log in to Brightspace
After logging into Brightspace, select the course you want to add a course list, then click Content
Add Module
Type in Leganto in the "add a Module box" and hit enter
Add Leganto
Click on “Existing Activities" and choose "External Learning Tools"
Search for Leganto and click on the title
Now you are ready to create a list. Please see the next tab "Creating a List"
Setting up a Reading List
Click on PNW Leganto
Choose Create new list.
Title the course list (usually course name and number) LIBR-101 and click Next
Your list is now made, and you can start adding sections and material to the list. Please see the next tab
Create Section
Search and add the Library’s physical and online collection
Once you search for an item you will get a list of results that you can limit by type
In the list, you will find
Click on Add to add it to your list
You can add tags to items before adding them to your list

Adding PDFs and other documents to your lists
It will appear in your list with a download option
To add material from other websites (ie YouTube) please see the Cite It! tab
The Cite It! tool is a bookmarklet that can be added to your browser bookmark bar so that you can add resources to your lists.
Cite It! streamlines the process of adding web pages and streaming videos (i.e. YouTube videos) to a list and pre-filling some of the citation fields for you.
Click on the Gear (settings) in the top, right corner of the Leganto platform.
Add material to the list using Cite It!
Finalizing and publishing the List
Once you have all items added
It will ask who you want to be able to view it
You are now finished and it's ready for your students to start viewing
