InterLibrary Loan (ILL): Interlibrary Loan FAQs

Material not available in the PNW Library

PNW uses Tipasa, an online system for placing and managing ILL requests.

  • Book Chapters
  • Journal Articles
  • Newspapers on microfilm
  • Government Documents
  • Conference Papers

Please make sure to check the PNW Library's catalog to make sure we do not already own the item.

Books 3-10 business Days.

Articles Hours-5 business days

Please check out the online catalog and request the item through PurdueBorrow.

Loans

  • Items will be held at the Library's public service desk
  • We will hold items until their due date

Articles

  • Emailed to the email you provided
  • Sent to your Tipasa account

Please contact us and let us know what you've requested and we will cancel it for you.

  • Recalls happen when the items are needed back at the lending library before their due date.
  • If you receive a recall notification please return the item right away. If you still need the item you can submit a new request and we can try to obtain another copy for you.

Due dates are determined by the lending library. Most libraries give 4 weeks with 1 renewal; other libraries will give 8 weeks with no renewal.

  • The paperwork around or in the book will have the due date
  • You can also check your Tipasa account

You will need to log into your Tipasa account and under the "review requests" section you can click view/renew checked-out items.
