The Praxis Core test assesses an individual's knowledge of mathematics, reading, and writing in preparation for a career as an educator. In the United States, many colleges and universities use the Praxis Core for entry into teacher preparation programs. Also, most states use the Praxis Core exam as a requirement for the teacher licensure and certification process. The majority of states require teachers to have passed at least one Praxis exam. This may include passing the Praxis Core, appropriate Praxis II, or Praxis Subject Assessment exams. There are a variety of helpful study resources, including the Praxis Core Practice Test and Praxis practice questions which help with understanding the content categories, type of questions, and format of the Praxis exam.
