Open Access publishing leads to more discovery, more downloads, and more global access to PNW research. At the University Library, we see open access partnerships with major journal publishers as a key part of our goal to create more equitable, sustainable publishing options for PNW authors, and in turn, to foster more equitable access to their research.
PNW authors who publish their research in the wide range of journals included in these partnerships may now include an open access option for their articles, at no cost to them, and without incurring embargoes. Since 2020, Purdue Libraries has negotiated several of these partnerships with major academic publishers, including Wiley, Cambridge University Press, ACM OPEN, Biochemical Society, and Taylor and Francis.
Many of the Purdue system open access publishing partnerships have resulted from the collective bargaining of the Big Ten Academic Alliance’s consortium of academic research libraries, of which Purdue is an active member.
More details about each publishing partnership can be found by navigating the left hand column of this LibGuide. Purdue Northwest authors interested in learning more about the specific journals available through these agreements may also contact the University Library for further information.
